                                      Beauty of Art
 
     It's amazing how fashion can change the way we think something looks or give off a different meaning. Fashion is sure definitely a part  art and can all create different meanings, it really has a lot of value, in  some cases they even represent a whole tradition or beliefs.

     For me, as someone who like to to buy clothes and dress up of, fashion really is a big part of my life. It's a way to express myself  through clothing shapes, color, and pattern. It's one of the first thing that people see and can judge you on. For example when you are going to an interview, you would want to wear a professional suit to give off a professional energy.

In some places there a certain traditional wear use to represent a culture or tradition. These outfits from all these places around the world have different cultural meanings. Fashion/Clothes are also used to show off a social class, especially in events where the wealthy want to stand out from the other lower social classes

But for me, i feel as tough fashion is a part of me and always will be because, i like to dressw and go out and love to get compliments.i like to go somewhere and kind of stand out from the rest by wearing something new, creative, and unique. i would even go as far as to alter outfits by myself, just to make it look different from other people's outfit.

                                         
                                                    THE ARTIST AS SCAPEGOAT

         In the play "The shape of things"The play focuses on four characters whom are; Evelyn, Adam, Phillip, and Jenny. The person who lacks morals the most in this play is Evelyn. She violate ethnic principles, changes him to the point where it goes to the surgery level. Most shocking is when she reveals everything at the end of the story, and confesses all the lies she had told him publicly without shame.

       Evelyn is the most morally lacking of all the play members because she basically used someone as if they were an object throughout the whole story. As if all the changes and "sculptures" were not bad enough, at the end of the story she doesn't even apologize, neither feel any guilt for her actions. she knew all along that he was falling in love with her and was dong all the changes to please her, yet played girlfriend role when inside she knows she was only using him. She knows that hes's extremely likely to do something just because she suggests, and she would go as far as suggestions a nose job, which he gets done.

       In another way Adam could be seen as the most morally lacking for letting someones idea easily control him. All she would do is bring up the idea/ suggest without  directly pushing or forcing him to do so, and he will just do it. Whats even more morally wrong about that is the facts that he is doing things that are not like him and that he doesn't even  enjoy doing.  For example, when Evelyn asks "do you like doing it?" and he answers "honestly...no.i totally hate it!" and then quotes "because you suggested it..(page 19). It's really terrible to go through or do things that you don't like just because someone suggested it. There are suggestions everywhere, you just need to stop and think for your own self what is  actually beneficial to you. The part where i felt like he was really wrong out of all was when he actually agreed to give up his friends, i mean that a really big move right there, i wonder if he would have given up his family too is she asked. i know he's doing that because he loves her and wants to please her, but at this age he should know that people should love you the way you are, and if you are going under the knife for them, then you should really rethink about your relationship.
   
          But at the end of the day the most morally lacking person is Evelyn because she stirred it all, and planned it all along knowing very well that he is falling for her and shes just going to leave him at the end. Adam was also morally lacking but his way meant no harm, it was just out of love to please her that he easily did things that she suggested. But for Evelyn, it was intentional and sadly used him as a piece of artwork for her school projects. Of all things in the worlds, she used a human beings that only wanted to love her.

The play The Shape of Things asks a very important question.  Is Eve the villain of the play and is that a fair question to ask?  Eve takes a surprising interest in Adam, a true nerd at heart.  He never really had much luck attracting women, yet was able to get Eve's interest.  Why was this?

Eve used her attractive looks and nature to gain the trust of Adam.  Unbeknownst to him, she had decided to try and experiment on him.  She had been challenged to "change the world" as part of her college work.  Instead she decided to "change someone's world."  Once she gained Adam's trust, she used him to alter his looks by agreeing to have plastic surgery.  She got him to "dress better" than he used to.  She got him to "eat healthier" than he used to.  She was able to manipulate and change his physical appearance.  Once she gained Adam's trust, she also used that to change his friendships.  She broke up his best friends and got Adam to cut himself off from them.  Her efforts were all about her self gain and self interest in accomplishing her goal.  She had no regard for how Adam would feel in the process or the outcome.

Eve was not the villain of the play.  Adam was because he got taken in by a beautiful woman.  He lacked the self confidence to be who he really was.  He was easily manipulated and deserved the outcome he got.  Eve made him more attractive and a more interesting person to most people -  but Adam could not appreciate these things when Eve explained that none of her feelings for him were true.

Trust in someone does not come without a price.  Eve got Adam to trust her because of the things she said and did to him.  He believed in her.  He loved her.  He asked her to marry him.  One should not take another person's trust lightly.  Eve did.  She changed Adam to suit her needs, not his.  Eve starts with the letter e and so does evil.

Mountains are majestic.  They are one of Earth's art forms.  They are everywhere.  I was up north in New England.  I was amazed by their height and the amount of snow that had fallen all over them.  I am a skier and the mountains are so cool.  I was a little kid and felt so small being in the presence of something so large.  Mountains as art forms are calm and peaceful.  Being out in nature with my family was special.  I had no worries at the time other than to make it down the mountain in one piece.

Imagine lots of white snow.  Imagine towers higher than skyscrapers of snow.  Trees poke out from time to time.  There is a lot of silence.  Peacefulness surrounds you.  Picture yourself as a tiny speck compared to something so much bigger and taller than yourself.  Think about how high you are when at the top of a mountain you can practically touch the sky.

I am impacted by these art forms because they make me feel calm, like I have no worries.  They are so vast and make me realize that I know where I can find peace.  Mountains are beautiful when covered by pure white snow.  They help me personally find my happy place.  Mountains help me physically to exercise and think.

Mountains as one of Earth's art forms let me know things will be okay.  Peace surrounds me when I am there.

In the Shape of things the artist challenges and criticizes the concept " Don't judge a book by its cover" that is relatively used in todays society as a metaphor to express the importance of not judging a person by their looks because they could end up being a really good person. In this play Adam is the book being manipulated by Eve, and judged by his peers.

In the beginning of the play Eve compliments Adam by calling him cute, and yet soon after make a small critique on his persona. Adams self esteem is boosted a notch and then immediately questioned with doubt, which is the first trial and success for Eves conscious manipulation on Adam.

The artist constantly tried to make the reader focus on how characters reacted and commented mostly on Adam's physical improvements and changes. When Jenny realizes Adam has "changed" she makes it understood she meant mostly on his looks.

Another example scene, is when Phillip realized Adam had been wearing a new jacket on, instead of the old raggedy jacket he had been wearing since high school. Stating that the old jacket had lost them both many dates due to it and how he would still not take it off, demonstrating the amount of importance the jacket was and validating his anger. Although Adam was still the same person personality wise, Phillip focused on Adams "cover' [looks] and assumed because he had changed his look he had changed into a completely new person with questionable mortality.

The Artist reveals  at the end how hypocritical the human race can be. People say "Don't judge a book by it's cover" to make themselves feel better because they consciously know that they unconsciously do judge others by their looks before knowing their personalities. The metaphor is a way of saying "yeah I know I do it, but you shouldn't do it' makes shitty people think they are less shitty by saying fake nice things. The truth is if you are a shitty person, no matter what you say or do to try to cover it you are still shitty, and you consciously know it.

During the play there were many times when every main character is questioned on their acts of lacking morality. The question of who out of the four of them lacking the most morals is hard because they all commented acts making them seem no better than one another. The person I believe is lacking the most morals is Eve.

Throughout the whole play she does unethical things to toy around with Adam. What I believe makes a person unethical and evil is if they are doing acts of harm to others or lying to hurt someone, not help. Influencing someone to the point where it's effecting their life in a negative way is morally wrong. People see that Eve is evil makes sense because she had tricked Adam into believing a lot of different things that influenced him to do certain things. He started to change a lot just for Eve. And Eve let it all happen In the end of the play she admits that every single little thing was a lie to even her name. And of course, you can see why people would easily see this as a betrayal by Eve in all the lies she was telling Adam. He basically wasted his entire time and in the end, he did it for someone he doesn't even know one single thing about. At the end of the play Eve admits she never had  feelings for Adam and was using him only for her project.

    "The Shape of Things" is a play full of characters whose actions are controversial. Even though many people portray Eve as being evil, I personally believe Adam is the most immoral character.
At the very start of the play, Adam and Eve have their first encounter. In that scene, Eve tries to deface the statue in the museum. People who believe that Eve is the most immoral, provide this scene as an example. They claim that Eve is doing things that are against the law. They say she is aggressive and tries to have her way in everything.

    Others who think of Adam as being the most immoral, refer to his change throughout the play. Adam changes too much. From his face to how he dresses, he completely becomes another person. Reading the play carefully, however, Eve not even once pressures him into doing any of the things he ended up doing. She provided him with a choice, and he took all of them. His lack of self-esteem led him to be vulnerable to the influence that is thrown at him from different directions.

    Let us say a rock and a plastic bag were placed next to each other. If a strong wind blows at them, which one do you think will be misplaced? It is the plastic bag. The rock has a larger mass which provided it with a great foundation. This is a perfect metaphor to relate to Adam's conditions. If Adam had a strong self-confidence, he wouldn't have let Eve have power over him. He was easy to manipulate. Even when Eve tries to deface the statue, Adam decides to leave her despite his awareness of what she was about to do. He chose to irresponsible because he was attracted to her. Therefore, Adam is the most immoral character.

Something I see a lot of art in are sunsets. Sunsets are something I've always been amazed by and something I always stop to look at. Going back as far as i can remember, i would always love watching them when at the beach and how they would set over your head as your enjoying dinner bay side or still relaxing on the beach. Being a kid and having nothing to worry about, sunsets still always seemed to relax me and make me appreciate what i have in life.

Imagine, sitting on the back patio of a restaurant looking off into the bay and slowly seeing the sun fall down the side of the sky, getting lower and lower every minute. Once it finally reaches the horizon the entire sky lights up with different colors. From red to orange to yellow to purple to pink, there isn't a more colorful thing a human being could ever witness.

Being something I always loved to watch and enjoy, sunsets have been something that helped me find a simple calm place in life. With nothing to worry about and nothing on my mind, i have the chance to be thankful for what i have in life and take in every moment to the fullest potential.

To determine which character is the most lacking of morals we must analyze each of the four characters individually and closely. During most of the play, Jenny is dating Philip and Adam is dating Evelyn. However, we find out at the end of the play that Evelyn has been manipulating Adam the entire time and is not actually in love with him. It was all an experiment on her part.

One possible answer is that no one is lacking morals anymore than the other. The blog post prompt is arguing that no one has a duty to one another. It is also arguing that everyone already subconsciously influences one another everyday and all day. This is getting into philosophy and saying that either no one lacks morals or everyone lacks morals.

Another possible answer is that Evelyn is the most lacking of morals. Jenny and Philip seem to have a healthy and real relationship for the most part (with a few brushes with cheating). Adam also seems to think that the relationship is real the entire time. Eve is the only one that fakes out. She manipulates Adam into changing his physical appearance, letting go of his closest friends, and asking to marry her by giving her a ring. All of these things were done without Adam's knowledge. The worst part about this is possibly that Eve doesn't even feel bad about any of it. She definitely lacks the most morals.

Eve lackking the most morals seems as the most perfect answer. I don't believe that everyone is equal in terms of morals. Eve clearly made someone suffer for her own benefit and didn't even care at the end. She lacks the most morals out of her 'friends'.

To agree as to how is at fault isn't so easy because the purpose behind Eve's action is different than of Adam's. By the end of the play I looked at my immoral act list and Eve was the one who encountered more immoral acts than anyone else. While she calms she has actually never committed any real wrong because she never forced him and therefore it was all Adam and not her responsibility. However she did act on by deceiving and setting up a relationship based on an illusion which is no better. She changed Adam at first harmless by making small healthier changes to later more permanent and dramatic life changes such as cosmetics and dropping his friends which is hard to undo. She said he had the opportunity to leave whenever but she showed more interest in Adam whenever he did what she wanted.

Looking back on Adam, he has done bad thing such as lie and cheat to his friends and furthermore to Eve. Regardless of what Eve's purpose was for being with Adam, at the time being of when these acts were committed Adam had no outside motives other than his own desire to cheat and lie. So Adam's actions was placed upon himself and was not manipulated to go and be unfaithful to Eve and drop his friends. His responsibility to be faithful and true was on him and he acted on it which makes him no better than Eve over all in the play.

The most reasonable conclusion to make of who out of the main four characters lack most moral would be Eve. Reason why Eve is more immoral is because her argument that her influence on Adam was as harmless as the influence our parents and tv commercials put on us. The difference between your family and tv commercials influencing you verse how Eve "only influenced" adam to do stuff is the change in the type of relationship you have between those people who try to influence you. Eve crossed the line for allowing a situation of trust to be created for Adam in becoming more inclined to her actions without a second thought. When in a relationship you are creating a non verbal agreement to treat each other fairly and with best intentions. While it she wasn't the one to start it she did have intentions of having a relationship happen for all the wrong reasons. And by not taking initiative to correct adam that she isn't in a relationship with him, by not saying nothing at all say something in itself.

Response to THE ARTIST AS SCAPEGOAT.

   The play is about a college student Adam is a simple, insecure and shy student that works half period as a security guard of a museum and in a rental. He meets the anarchist and transgressor student of Arts Evelyn Ann Thompson trying to paint a penis in an important statue, and after arguing with her, in the end they schedule a dinner. As they start to date, Adam's behavior changes and his appearance and confidence improve influenced by Evelyn. Meanwhile as the play goes on he has an affair with Jenny, betraying and lying to Evelyn and to Phillip, and destroying their friendship. When Evelyn presents her thesis for the Master degree, Adam is surprised with revelations because the thesis was about "the change of Adam". So, the question is Eve seen as a villain in this play?

   Adam plays the role as innocent, and insecure about himself he changes himself for Eve. From the way he looks to the way he behaves. According to the play it seems that Eve had something to do with it but he had a choice. Nonetheless, she didn't force anything on him by any means. He gave Eve the permission to rule over him. He barely knew Eve. Eve wouldn't say much about her unless until she was asked. There was a alot of parts in the play that hinted how Eve was lying and manipulating him. Like the part when she told him to choose her or his friends that was when he should've known from that point Eve doesn't love him for who he is. Also, the part when she lied about not drinking coffee to Adam. And yet, he chooses her. But despite of loving Eve so much, why did he cheated on her? He kissed Jenny. I think that the relationship gets twisted.

   On the other hand, I agree that Eve had lack of morals by presenting "the change of Adam" as her thesis and humiliating Adam in front of a huge crowd. She lied a lot to Adam through out the relationship. She defined art in such way, that broke Adam's heart.

However, I don't necessary think Eve had lack of morals like most of the people see. Because, to me I felt like the thesis about Adam was to just get on him for cheating on her. Just like she said during the introduction of her thesis, "the more her subject was growing confident he's behavior was being questionable". And that's why she did. I think she had some feelings atleast a little bit for him through the relationship until he cheated. As for him changing for Eve, he changed himself for a better reason.

The play The Shape of Things centers around 4 characters living in a small college town. Though at the beginning of the play none of them seem particularly evil people, by the end we see all of the immoral acts they have done throughout the play. Though they all have their share of wrongdoings, there are some characters who are much worse off than the others.

The most immediately obvious answer to this question is Evelyn. Though viewers are not aware, she is deceitful from the very beginning. She pretends to be interested in Adam romantically, simply so that she can manipulate him. Though some changes she makes are good, such as cutting his hair and getting rid of the old jacket, the act itself is somewhat morally dubious. Despite positive change, she is still deceiving Adam. And in some cases, her manipulation leads to negative outcomes, such as when Adam decides to cut his closest friends from his life. He even goes so far as to get cosmetic surgery as a result of her influence. Regardless of your opinion on cosmetic surgery, it’s hard to argue that such a drastic change resulting from manipulation isn't crossing a line of some kind. Once her schemes are revealed, Evelyn tries to defend herself by pointing out the same immoral acts being committed by the media and society as a whole. But someone else committing the same immoral act as you doesn't absolve you of any guilt, it just means that both parties are in the wrong. Evelyn may have a point that today’s media is immorally influencing people to make drastic changes to themselves. That doesn’t mean she can do it too and it makes it ok. And even if you ignore the changes that she influenced him to make, pretending to be in a relationship with him for so long is wrong by itself.

Despite Evelyn’s questionable deeds, it's possible that Adam is even more immoral when you consider his actions. And make no mistake, they were his actions. Every change Adam made to himself was by his own volition. Sure, Evelyn may have brought up certain topics, or made a simple suggestion, but it was Adam who carried out everything. It is Adam’s fault for being so easily influenced into making major changes in his life. Adam let Evelyn’s view of him matter too much, and so he became willing to change his life at the drop of a hat just for her. In some cases, there didn’t have to be a cause. Evelyn never even mentioned a tattoo and yet he went out and got one of her initials. When presented with choosing between Evelyn and his friends, he chose Evelyn with little hesitation.

Quite a case can be made saying that both Evelyn and Adam are the most lacking in morals in the play. However when compared I would have to say Evelyn is worse off. Adams worst deed was cutting his friends out of his life. While it was a terrible thing to do, Evelyn still seems to be more lacking in morals. It is worsened by her complete lack of remorse. She manipulates and lies to Adam for weeks, publicly humiliates him, turns him into a piece of art, and feels absolutely no guilt for ruining his life. If the question posed was “Who committed the most immoral acts” it would probably be Adam. But since we are examining who is the most lacking in morals, the greater severity of her acts puts Evelyn at the top.

      The play ”Shape of things ” is about a  man named Adam who met Eve, an adorable graduate art student, and the influence that she had on him. As the play unfolds, it tells us how Eve influenced Adam; for instance: working out more,getting plastic surgery and getting a new hair style.

     Many would think that Adam is at fault, but  from my perspective Eve is the villain in this play. Although Adam is responsible for his actions, Eve is the one who pushes Adam to change.  However, when pushed to act in a certain way, it is only natural to ask oneself,  “Am I doing the right thing ?“. Eve used Adam  as if he was nothing. She lied  to him every single time, from the beginning until the end of the play, starting from giving him her name.  At the end of the play Eve admits she never had  feelings for Adam. She morals using him only for her project.  It is a miserable thing to tell someone that  he is useless and to treat him as if he was an object, rather than a human being. Eve  was playing with Adam’s emotions.

     
   The biggest mistakes that Adam made in his life  were letting Eve control his life, and letting his friends go because Eve told him to do so.

Eve is the character most lacking in morals because she changed someone’s life by playing a with his emotions.Even though it’s true that some people, such as parents, can influence their children by showing them the right path in life, they won’t leave them in the dark like Eve did to Adam.

In our modern world there are many things that influence us every day. We take in more information than ever and need to be able to sift through it to find what is real and reliable and not let the false information influence us. In the play The Shape of Things Adam does not exhibit literacy and is easily influenced by Evelyn and her falsified feelings toward him.  This play shows us the importance of social literacy in our daily life.


Many people will say that that Eve's actions are uncalled for and cruel. And while it is important to realizes the emotional tole an event like this could put on a person.  I do believe that something like this would be wrong it does not appear that he was very impacted.  This statement would be based on people apply their own emotions to the situation. I believe that when we separate ourselves and remove the application of our own emotions to Adam it is obvious that he was not emotionally hurt. There isn't really any evidence of Adam having any emotions other than being deeply surprised at Eve's reveal. Because of the outcome I do not have a problem with Eve's project.


While Evelyn's manipulation may not be moral it is important to realize her intentions being to make an interesting project which I believe she accomplished. This coupled with the lack of emotion that Adam shows after it is revealed to him that their relationship was fake reinforces my belief that Eve did not do anything wrong. She stayed within her right and made an interesting art project without crossing the line and seriously harming her subject. For these reasons I do not believe it is appropriate to call Eve a villain.

Paragraph 1: 

       The person I believe is lacking the most morals is Eve. Throughout the whole play she does unethical things to toy around with Adam. What I believe makes a person unethical and evil is if they are doing acts of harm to others or lying to hurt someone, not help. Influencing someone to the point where it's effecting their life in a negative way is morally wrong.

Paragraph 2:

        My belief is that the way Eve persuades Adam to change his whole look and even his personality is morally wrong and pretty much evil. I do not think that Eve telling Adam to workout and grow out his hair was not pushing it because Adam was not harming himself. Working out actually helps him physically get in shape and stay healthy, but then you read later on about Adam getting a nose job. That's harmful to his health and was an unnecessary sugary. That is when you start to question how evil Eve really is and think she is the most unethical out of the characters. 

Paragraph 3:

       If you look at it on the other hand Adam could be considered the most unethical because of how much he changed to make a girl happy. He was willing to go under anesthesia and get his nose done to please a girl. He also made a sex tape because Eve wanted to. He had only had sex with three girls in his life and was willing to give it up so easily for her. Is that love? Having to change yourself completely to please your partner. He also let her change him, that's so unethical to let someone redesign you. so maybe he is the most morally wrong instead of Eve because he let her do everything she did. 

Paragraph 4:

    

     Now it comes down to who is the most morally wrong. The person doing evil things or the person letting someone do evil things and not trying to stop it. I would say Eve is still the most unethical because of how evil her intentions are. There is no guilt for playing with Adams feelings and health. She really does not care what she does to other people as long as she gets what she wants in the end. She made Adam fall in love with her and then ruined him in a matter of time. She truly in the most unethical person in this play.

Reading the play was really interesting as I go more into the end I really had different thought about Eve is really confident about herself. Adam is really lack of morals and not self confident.

In the beginning of the play I thought that Adam would be a person that is confident about himself. He has lack of morals he always has second thoughts about what he says to Eve and always thinks that she's right and his not. Adam thinks his not perfect enough for who he is. He does not show the real him to Eve he just wants to follow what she wants him to do and what she thins about him.


Eve on the other hand is really self confident. She is very confident about what she says and thinks about herself. She does not have lack of morals. She does not expect anything from Adam that would make her think less confident about fir who she is. She stays the way she is from the beginning till the end of the play the same way.

I personally think that Eve was not forcing or telling Adam what to do she was just giving suggestions so Adam should not take everything serious and be someone that she wants him to be. He should have self confidence and morals. He should know that his worth of something and not follow everything that comes out Eve mouth and he should go his way.

     After reading the play I have come to the conclusion that Eve isn’t as bad as we like to make her out to be. In fact, it seems as though we’ve placed Adam on a pedestal and turned a blind eye to all the things he has done.

       Even though, it might seem as though it is Eve who caused  Adam to change not only his appearance but  the people he  chooses to associate himself  with. It is Adam who gave her the power to do so. The only way she was able to prey on his weakness was because his will power when it comes to her is next to non-existent. We could argue that he was in love with her, but in the first scene he gave her his jacket so she could spray her number on it. This event  is probably looked  over as insignificant, however, this event signifies how easily he is willing to give something away.

     Why is it that we like to demonize Eve in every aspect? Most of us would say its because she influenced Adam to change. If that's the case then why aren't we demonizing social media, our parents, friends etc? Sure, she might have said some things she shouldn't have, but she never forced him to do anything. We need to keep in mind that he changed for the better. As he has lost weight, he stopped biting his nails, he got a nose jobs and started wearing contacts. All these  things have only improved his way of life. 

   At the end of the day it is Adam who gave Eve the power over him. He was never forced to do anything, he willingly left his friends, and he willingly got the nose job. If anything it is Adam who seems to be lacking morals. Who would leave their friends because someone told them to do so? Eve is not this bad character that we make her seem to be  and nor is Adam a victim.

Eve is the most lacking in morals in the play she is the evil doer the whole play I assumed that Adam was the bad person but as you get to end and when eve debut her art show you see that the whole time is was all a game to her that Adam was just a puppet in her game.

Eve could be the one that did wrong the whole time more than Adam because Adam was played to do what he did and Adams emotions were played with even tho he was not faithful to eve, but what Adam did was wrong and eve cared for split second and continued with her games

It could be the other girl that was in on it the whole time to kiss Adam which would have a whole ripple effect and cause her to not go through with her engagement or not be friends with Adam for what he did.
I would say in conclusion that eve was in the wrong the whole time and she should've just left the situation and not been such a a**hole about the whole thing and had a smarter art project instead it was more of an experiment or revenge on men.

The person that is most lacking in morals in the play is the one who allows their actions to be altered by others telling them what to do. I say this because every where many people try to influence our actions all of the time: our parents, TV commercials, your teachers, etc. but it is up to the person to either do or don't do what they are being told. People aren't evil when they try to influence your actions, if that was the case most of the world would be evil.




Therefore speaking I think that Adam is lacking morals throughout the play. He continuously allows Evelyn to influence his actions or true self. In the play Adam is influenced by Evelyn on many occasions. For example, working out more, getting a new hairstyle and nose job. All of these are examples of Adam losing his true self just by listening to Evelyn. His friends even begin to notice the change when hey notice the new jacket he had gotten and they blame Evelyn for it, but Adam continuously lies and makes excuses for the changes he made.


On the other hand people may try to blame Evelyn because she lied and purposely tried to influence Adam for her own personal gain. Adam began to change a lot because he thought it would make Evelyn happy, but little did he know she was just using him. At the end of the play Evelyn admits that she was never really in the relationship because she had feelings for Adam, she was using him for her assignment. This is morally messed up because you can't go around playing with peoples feelings. You should let your intentions be said from the jump and problems like this one wouldn't have happened.
            
Overall I think Adam is lacking the most morally. By him letting others influence his decisions he ended up destroying himself. He lost friends. relationship and things that were dear at heart to him. People should always question whether not something is really for the good of them and if that person or they were not influenced would they still do that thing they are being told to do. How will this decision impact you  ?

                   After reading the play, many would say that Eve is the villain of the play. But is it fair? Well, I can see why people would say that because she influences Adam to do a lot of things for her. For example, working out more and getting a new hairstyle. Even getting a nose job. All of this Adam does because of Eve's influence. Being that everyone is being influenced by people in our circle, TV than are those people also considered being evil?


                  People seeing that Eve is evil makes sense because she had tricked Adam into believing a lot of different things that influenced him to do certain things. He started to change a lot just for Eve. And Eve let it all happen In the end of the play she admits that every single little thing was a lie to even her name. And of course, you can see why people would easily see this as a betrayal by Eve in all the lies she was telling Adam. He basically wasted his entire time and in the end, he did it for someone he doesn't even know one single thing about. Just knows that she really actually does like coffee. The people that are influencing you like parents and the TV aren't as evil as you think. You can't compare Eve and your parents influence. Because your parents wouldn't like about every single little thing just to change you and Eve lied about every single little thing.The influence of Eve and your parents are completely different.

                  Some would say that it was Adams fault and it isn't fair to say it's Eve's fault for what occurred. First, Adam needs to be more responsible to himself. You shouldn't let your guard down that easily for someone and believe that every single thing they want you to do is beneficial to you. I would say that Adam needs to be more mindful about who he is and not change because some girl is influencing you. Especially when the nose job comes into play. You need to make this decision because you want to. Not based off of any influence. Not fair to say it's all of Eve's fault for what happened to Adam. Influences in the TV world can be considered evil. For example, many things are said by the media which causes many people to feel towards something a certain way because of them staying to one side of the story and not hearing the other side. The influences can be evil because they do cause people to sway towards the bad things. Become ignorant to the other side and not want to listen to the other people.

             In the end, I believe that it's Adam's fault for what happened to him and not fair to blame Eve. Adam needs to be a lot more responsible for what happens to him. Needs to be secure about himself and not let people influence him so easily. Not fair to put it all on, Eve. And I believe that you can't compare parents influences to Eves because those are completely different. Eve's influences on Adam was the lot worse than parents would ever be.

My mom woke me up on Saturday January 21st to go to the Women's March. While there I took lots of pictures and talked to lots of different people on the many reasons why they were there. Most reasons were because people strongly disagreed with our newly appointed " president ". I for one was there  because as a women or young lady myself, I don't want the little rights I already have being taken away from me.


This photo shows the thousands of people who gathered together because of similar beliefs. This picture itself and being there had a strong impact on me because I feel as though our voice is being heard across nations because Washington DC wasn't the only place who held a women's march. The fact that over a thousand people our willing to come together and stand for this issue shows that something isn't right in the system or with the " president " .


This artwork touches into social, and personal functions. Social because it is showing the impact Trumps' choices for the country can have a Cause and Effect on the world wide society. Personal not only for those who sympathize and agree that his hatred for women is wrong, but to every family because each one has a female figure in it. We can't forget who we are. Can we really make America great again' without women in it?


The above pictured was able to touch me because the detail it showed. How the pictured captured all those people and being there to know there was even more people that weren't captured. All these people coming together and expressing and having their voice heard is just incredible and I'm glad my mom woke me up to experience what went on that day.

Blog Post 2

The play is about this college girl who meets a boy and they start a relationship but go through a lot of problems in the relationship. The girl never really speaks of her life unless asked questions but the boy has no problem of telling her everything. It was more than the boy Adam was into the relationship more than Eve. While the relationship is going on, Adam starts to do some major changes that he doesn't think are big but his close friends do. He gets plastic surgery and loses weight and changes his clothes style. All these changes are during the relationship and Adam's friends think that it is Eve changing him. Making him lose the weight and all of it. Of course Adam says that it is not but in the play, it truly looks as if it was her.

I say that Eve had no part in his changes. Adam did all the changes by himself. No one forced him into losing weight or getting plastic surgery. Adam cheated on Eve in the middle of the relationship and it took a while for Eve to find out but it proves that he did his changes/mistakes on his own. No one forces him to do the things that he did because he has his own mind and that is what controls him. Adam was not influenced by Eve because all she did was listen to him and nod her head.

Some may say that Eve did influence it because she didn't stop it. She let him do all those changes and just supported. By having her just sitting there and letting it happen, it would be a thing of her influencing it. Eve was also looked at by Adam of someone who you could look up to. While looking up to her, he thought he needed to be a perfect boyfriend in her eyes. Meaning that it was another way of influencing Adam into changing his ways.

I say that Adam was not influenced by Eve because Adam is responsible for himself. No one is in charge of Adam except for Adam. He is responsible for his own actions. I could understand if Eve was the one pushing him into it but she wasn't. She actually had nothing to do with anything. Just like he cheated on his own, he changed his looks on his own. We are only responsible for ourselves. Just as we are responsible for our own actions. That is my answer and my view. Adam is responsible for himself and for his own actions.

BLOG POST #2: THE ARTIST AS SCAPEGOAT

Review the "Immoral Acts/Vices" list you created while reading the play.  Who is the most lacking in morals?  Why?  Is there some a critically important ethical principal this person violates (review "Ethic of Justice" from earlier handout) or is there some aspect of his/her behavior that is irresponsible (review "Ethic of Caring" from earlier handout).

Confused?  Here's the same question, just another way:  Many people see Eve as the "evil doer" or "villain" in this play.  Is that a fair assessment?  That she tries to influence Adam's choices and behavior is undeniable, but many people try to influence our actions all of the time: our parents, TV commercials, your teachers, etc.  Does that make them evil, too?  Before judging Eve, think about what each of us is ultimately responsible for and think about who each of us is ultimately responsible to.

Blog #1

It was a day before winter break and my 3rd period asked me about the different languages that we spoke in Ethiopia and I was really curious to google it and find out. The results that I received were unexpected and shocking to me. There are 88 individual languages of Ethiopia. I would most likely have guessed less then the actual number but I found out a new thing about my own country and its languages.


But the most one that is been spoken by many is Amharic which is what I grew up speaking and most of the people that grew up around the Capital city. The most widely spoken language in Ethiopia is Oromo, which around 33.8 percent of the population speaks.  With the 1994 Ethiopian census indicating that some 77 tongues were spoken locally. Most of these languages belong to the Afro-asiatic family.

Power of the Woman

          The Women's March on January 21 was such a huge moment for me. At the time women were made to feel their lowest. And despite all the struggles to get our voice heard, we were patient and waited. But a final thing sparked the hidden anger in millions of women around the world.

           The march took place mainly in DC and LA but all around the world thousands of women protested and marched for another attempt of getting their voice heard. Over 800,000 women filled the streets of Washington DC and Los Angeles. Thousands of posters with meaningful messages. Many marchers chose to wear pink hats or pink clothing. Among the thousands of women were also men with the same intent to spread to message of women suffrage.

           The "Land of the Free" has allowed a racist, ignorant, Islamophobic superstar to become the leader of our nation. Basically the leader of the world with the amount of influence this nation has over the rest of the world. And with all the comments and threats made against Muslims, helpless immigrants, and, women, someone had to do something before it escalated. And with multiple attempts from thousands of people to extinguish the problem, the power of women refused to be silenced again.

            I've always been a witness and victim to the notion that women were the helpless, and lesser species. Culture and religion has shaped our society in a way to make women under men when in fact women were made to birth half and raise the other half. The very glue that is keeping our world together is suffering so much and the most upsetting thing is that all this suffrage can end if men just accept that women are just as important. This march was so meaningful to me as a huge feminist and believer in equality for all. Those women didn't just protest for women, they protested for Muslims, for innocence, for equality. And I'll be damned if we let this torture continue.

Response to Blog Post #1- Art Experience

The movie "Lion" was released on the 25th of November 2016. It was the night before school reopens after the winter break my sister,my mom, my cousin from Canada and I decided to watch the movie in the theatre. That very day I had no motivation to go to school after a long break. I really had nothing to look forward at. I was going through a phase that nothing seemed worth it. I wanted to live a different life. Anyways, the trailer was what dragged me to watch the movie.

 The film begins in 1986 in Khandwa, India, where five-year-old Saroo Khan lives with his mother and siblings. On an ill-fated train trip to look for work, Saroo and his older brother, Guddu, are separated, and Saroo ends up on a train that carries him 1,000 miles from home, to the busy jumble of Kolkata. The first half of Lion, harrowing and sad, depicts Saroo’s time alone on the streets, nearly preyed upon by sinister people with undoubtedly even more sinister motives, until he’s finally brought to an orphanage. From there he’s sent to Tasmania, Australia, and adopted by a doting, childless white couple.   

   What stroke me and made me dumbfounded was the five year old character Saroo. While watching the movie, I was so much engaged with the character and the journey he went through by himself. The kid is a natural, equal parts waif and rascal with an expressive face that perfectly reflects his state of mind from scene to scene while often not saying word.    There was two scenes that made realize that I have everything that what I needed. I have food to eat three times a day, I have my family, I have a shelter to live in. And the important thing is I was getting one of the best education in the whole world. So, this film was based on true story in India. As the little boy gets lost and separated from his family, 1000 miles away to another part of India he travels alone with no shelter and food. He goes through a series of dangerous path in Kolkata. Eventually, he is reduced to sleeping in tunnels and stealing food from public shrines. All he had with him was a cardboard to rest his head on during night with the others kids however, one night when they were asleep in the train station they were being chase by this gang of men who abducts kids and are forcefully being paralyze any parts of their body. This very kids are then ought to work "as in beg for money" for them. The fact that all the incidents he goes through are true and people aren't aware of it. It's just really sad...

 So, coming from a country similar to India, Bangladesh, not long ago I did experience seeing infants to toddlers to even teenagers homeless,begging, sleeping on the streets but never did I imagined myself putting my feet on their shoes. I failed to understand them. The journey of  Saroo in Kolkata by himself opened my eyes, my heart for those kids who struggles every step of their way by themselves . This film made me experience art personally. After I finish the highest level of education that I can get, the only thing that I can do is to give back my education, my knowledge to those kids in my country by opening an orphanage homes for them as well as educate them with nurture and love.

Art Experienced

Since I was young, music is how I feel, hear, and understand the world; the range of my understanding of music is as big as my understanding of the world.  During my freshman year of high school, I was listening to some music and came across an unusual song and was immediately hooked. As a dancer, I was used to hearing the same songs over and over, pop and hip-hop, with little variation. However, this song really got my attention in a new way.

The song was very uplifting, cheerful, with a drumming beat that naturally made me want to move differently. After hearing the song, I wanted to find out who the artist was and more about how it was created. I learned that it was an African Song by Culoe de Song called Nguwe. The song features Thandiswa Mazwai. The song is upbeat, catchy, and has great beats. This song is from a completely different culture in a totally different language; it was different than anything I had ever heard.

From this song it expanded my knowledge of a culture and one that I now like to move to and dance to. It added a new level to my personality and changed how I move and dance. Also, it had me wanting to learn more and get out of my circle of the music I knew. I wanted to learn more about other music and how it might change the way I dance.

This song reached me because it was something I already liked but did not knew existed. It fits me well and the type of music I like to listen to but I had never experienced it from this culture. This  came to me because browsing through music while working around my house. The artist was really good at hooking listeners; in the first two seconds of the song it immediately caught my attention. Normally, if I don’t instantly like a song, I skip it, but this caught my attention and held it.

Blog Post #1

I can't remember the first time I saw this art, all I remember is that it was on a computer when I was searching through images of graffiti. I couldn't exactly say why but I remember really liking it. There was nothing especially relevant going on in my life at the time.

The artist is named Banksy. I don't really know much about him other than that he works with spray paint as his medium. The piece itself is 2 soldiers. One is crouched and the other is standing hunched over, painting a large red peace symbol. They both appear to be somewhat on alert, and looking off in the same general area. It is not entirely clear what is happening other than that one is painting, one is guarding, and they are both looking around as if they are nervous.

The art had only a personal impact on me. I liked how many different interpretations there are. What was the situation? Were they doing something they weren't supposed to do, and therefore nervous of being caught? If that were the case, the message might be that soldiers are encouraged by their superiors to be violent and not to spread peace. Or perhaps, they are in a combat zone and that is why they are nervous. If that is the case, the message might be that while on the outside they are tough killers, on the inside they are still just young men who want peace. Depending on how you see their situation, the message changes. 

This art managed to reach me for the same reason stated above. The mystery surrounding it and what it is supposed to communicate. The medium and form of presentation is also interesting. Graffiti on the side of a building is the canvas that this artist chose. Not a wall in a gallery, or a big sheet of paper, but just classic vandalism on a wall in the street. It sort of draws forth the vague taboo suggested by the art itself. 

Nice Kicks

Well on day on Instagram, I was going through some pictures and I saw a picture of some custom shoes. Who doesn't custom shoes now a days.  As I open his page, I see his name k_o.brand_kickasso and his vast variety of designs. From cartoon to movie actors, he did it all.  As I scroll on I see a pair of football cleats he custom. This was when I first really started following football, and I didn't know you can custom cleats.

The shoes were a pure white under armor cleats, with white all around and clean white laces. And on the left side of the right pair of cleats, he painted in the Eritrean flag for the Giant's player, Nat Berhe. Which happens to be where I'm from. For the other pair he added the United States flag on the right side of the left foot. The pattern on the shoe was a zigzag type pattern which made it look as if it was a realistic waving flag.

The custom really hit home literally, so I would consider it a personal impact. This was the first Eritrean to play football and he was actually starting. I was stoked to see someone from the same country as me. And for him to get his cleats custom of the Eritrean flag was the impact he had on me and other Eritreans personally. I also understood that art can be on anything, and it isn't only on canvas.

The designers technique was really good, as he brought the flag to life, by adding paint that popped. The white background with the red, green, blue, yellow flag was on point. Also the way he drew it in was a key factor only adding it on the others sides of the shoes. This made it simple because you don't have a huge flag, but a perfectly placed. The painter took advantage of the original pattern on the shoe, a zig zag pattern, which made it look as it was waving.

The Syrian Boy

I was sitting in front of the TV, shocked and unable to articulate my emotions as I was watching what was being broadcast on the news channel. Tears were dropping down my cheeks and my hands were covering my mouth as if they were trying to prevent it from saying something.” The Picture of a Drowned Syrian Boy” was the headline of the news.

Trying to explain the picture is simple and hard at the same time. A young boy is lying face down on the shores of a beach. He is wearing a red shirt. I couldn’t tell if he is wearing shorts or pants or if it is his jacket tied on his waist. He is wearing shoes. His hands are resting on the ground with his palms turned upward. The water wave is hitting his head. His eyes are closed. His clothes is wet and his hands covered in sand. He looks so innocent and helpless. The news broadcaster was saying he was three years old. He is young. His body was one amongst hundreds of other corpses that are found drowned in the freezing seas everyday.

I have heard about the Syrian refugees and the immigration crisis before. I knew about ISIS, and Bashar Al Assad. It was all over the news and social media. But I am sure most people including myself never thought of how much it has affected the people of Syria. For most of us, it is just a current issue or a topic of debate over coffee with our friends. But this photo enlightened me into the realization that the immigration crisis is actually affecting thousands of lives. Innocent boys and girls are dying and men and women are suffering. That innocent boy lying on the ground alone and helpless represents all the Syrian Refugees that are wandering around for survival. The war is real. It is real. It has been a little over 4 years now. 4 years ago, I was a totally different person, a lot has changed with me since. What has been changing for a Syrian teenager within these past 4 years?  

The Syrian boy’s photograph is heart touching. The photographer tried to capture the situation as accurate as possible. It was the water, the ground, and the boy only in the photo. The audience could concentrate on the boy only and not on other distracting things around him. The angle of the camera and the lighting correctly displayed the emotions that are being portrayed: loneliness, helplessness, and sadness. But I think it is neithr the camera angle nor the lighting that made this particular photo spread like wildfire all over the world. It is the story that is powerful, convincing, and challenging. It makes you ask yourself a question to what the future holds for the Syrians and humanity in general.

                                                                                                                         

                           RESPONSE TO BLOG ONE 

      ''Hidden figures'' is a movie that was released on December 25th 2016 .The film mainly talks about a team of African American women who provided NASA with important mathematical calculation.It's filled with great actors who played their role beautifully and also  with amazing  production,the movie  brings the light on the  untold story.The first time i watched this movie was  on January 29th 2017,the weekend i spent with my Mom and her friend. As  an African American girl who is pursuing education,''hidden figures''  inspired me in the space program that i had never been made aware of.


   ''Hidden figures'' was based on True untold story about Three African Americans women who were discriminated  and segregated by the white peoples but still played a great roll in helping John Glenn orbit the earth in 1962 and also by being the brain behind one of the greatest operation in history . They used pencils ,adding machines and side ruled to calculate the numbers. Although they were having so many  different obstacles they overcame  all of them.For instance,Janelle Monae the women who played ''Mary Jackson's" character was not allowed to learn in a white school only because she was colored  although she fulfilled all the requirements  .Taraji p.Henson who played the role of ''Katherine Johnson"was obliged to walk for a miles just to go to a colored restroom cause their was none for colored.Everything was decided including public transportations,schools. It was very heart breaking to be an African American and watch this movie.It literally made me cry even though many peoples don't  . I couldn't imagine myself being in  their shoes.

      It had also  a personal impact on me . seeing the characters not to give up but getting stronger and stronger to over come their obstacles and achieve their goals inspired me to think wider and challenge obstructions of being a black women.

   It reached me through the on point  production  contributed to the accurate transfer of the message of the movie to the audience and also because its true story and also because ''Hidden figures'' is a  very powerful,uplifting, and interesting movie.










       


 
    
         

My art experience

Art is form of self expression  that can be found in the most peculiar places it can not and will not be confined to a place, shape, media or ideology. It was during the summer of 2015 when I first came across Loyce Gayo performance of ‘How we forget’. I found myself lost - unable to formulate a train of thoughts ; I found myself feeling guilty as if I was the one who carved out her scars. You see, at that time I lived in Kuwait which is located in the middle east and  I was able to connect with the injustice she spoke of.

If I’m being completely honest till this day I do not know why this performance rather than the poem speaks to me. The poet used her poem to talk about the horrific injustice African Americans had and still continue to endure. While performing her spoken words one could see how tender her wounds are. The poet Loyce Gayo talks about how easily we tend to forget about the racism that plagues this  land of the free. All throughout the performance we see how this poem connects to her on a level that is beyond comprehension- a spiritual level.

As an African Immigrant I was able to  identify with issues she spoke off, I was able to put myself in her shoes and my heart yearned for hers, for the future and for the past. Though both of us  were never slaves we’re still till this day are  trying to break free of the ideology that has been put in place ever since then. The emotion and passion with which she conveys all this is phenomenal.

Loyce Gayo toys with the idea of repetition in this poem. Which I believe helped make the poem more memorable as it aided in  solidifying  the ideas she was trying to convey. She was also a great performer as anyone watching would be able to feel the rawness of her emotions.

Blog post 1: Art

Paragraph 1:

     On February 4th, 2017 in the midst of Donald Trumps presidency a German magazine published on it's front page, a particular perspective illustration on Trump. Trump had recently passed an immigration ban which bars for 90 days people from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. It also bans all refugees for 120 days, and Syrian refugees indefinitely. I first experienced this on Social media, second week into Trump's reality T.V. like politics, surrounded with overwhelming worries from personal Peruvian, and Muslim family members futures and safety.

Paragraph 2:

     In this Illustration you see Trump holds both hands up as in some type of victory achieved. On one hand he holding up the statue of liberty's head, creating a bloody puddle below. In his other hand he holds a bloody knife, he seems to have used to cut Lady Liberties head by the neck. This comes to show how ONE choice can have a HUGE effect on peoples lives.

Paragraph 3:

     This artwork touches into on Educational, social,and personal functions. Educational for educating those who are unaware of president Trump's actions in the U.S. Social by showing the impact Trumps' choices for the country can have a Cause and Effect on the world wide society. Also Personal not only for those who sympathize and agree that the ban is wrong, but to those families personally affected by the ban. We can't forget who we are. Lady Liberty holds a torch for those seeking refuge. We are a country of immigrants. We are Americans. Donald Trump's ban stands for the exact opposite; Can we really 'make American great again' without the diverse Color, Religion, and Culture that made it great in the first place?

Paragraph 4:

     This art interested me because of how explicit it was. The illustration was straight forward and real. The artist did very well at not beating around the bushes. The artist does exceptionally well at portraying such a strong message with simplicity. Using thick and strong colors with nothing to around it to cover the art almost like not wanting to cover up the truth as others who has Trump's beliefs. Those who are ignorant to not wanting to recognize, nor admit that the ban is a racist ban do not like this work of art because of the fact that the artist puts them on full blast and exposes the true unmoral, un-American intentions of who they chose for their president.

Blog Post #1 Response - Luke Kollar

Paragraph 1 - Late one day I was doing the dishes at the Panera Bread where I work. I was bored, and my boss allows me to listen to music as I scrub. I looked on twitter and saw that The Weeknd released a new album titled "Starboy". I put the album on, and felt something magical as it played. 

Paragraph 2 - "Starboy" is nothing less than a masterpiece. The album features two singles and sixteen more original tracks. The album features Abel Tesfaye (The Weeknd) in every track, and features other artist such as Future and Lana Del Rey. 

Paragraph 3 - The album serves a very spiritual function. You feel what The Weeknd is saying and talking about, and feel the emotions he conveys. This album and it's many songs get me feeling many emotions, from love to anger. 

Paragraph 4 - This album reached me because I could tell how much of himself The Weeknd put into these songs. Some are very personal, such as "Reminder" where he goes about his hardships and how he is successful now. I can tell he used himself and his REAL emotions when writing this, and that's what makes it beautiful!

Blog Post # 1

The first time I saw this artistic photograph was several days ago on an online media outlet. I was in a phase - and still am- of transitioning from high school to university. It is a stressful time signifying the change from adolescence to adulthood.

This work of art is showing General Eisenhower giving his soldiers a speech and motivational talk the day before D-Day. It shows a great angle of the general's face and the faces of the audience who are listening closely and with passion. The soldiers' faces can be seen as dirty and tired. The general seems to be intelligent and serious about the topic.

Spiritually and Emotionally, this piece of art shows the concept of role models very well. It shows soldiers looking up to an ideal fighting figure, giving them strength and motivation.

The photograph affected my by subtly showing the importance of having a role model and someone to look up to. At my difficult transition phase, I need someone to help lead me through dark times.

The first time i saw something that I experienced was when I say these pants by designer  Jerry Lorenzo and His brand Fear of god what was different at the time when he released the pants was that they had a zipper on the inner ankle giving you a versatile look when wearing your pants. I heard of him from scrolling through complex and looking at other designers and came across him. When I first got introduced to him that's when I had my first real job and i saved my money up to buy his clothes.

Its a distressed washed denim with blowouts at the knees and distressing at the upper thigh area with zippers from the bottom of the pant leg to about mid calf on the inner ankle.
This Changed my perspective of fashion and clothing because it was a new designer and new designs flooding the high fashion and street wear seen. It has impacted me socially because this really introduced me more into fashion specifically street wear and i have made a lot of connections through street wear meeting new people and exchanging ideas on clothes or buying and selling clothes.
It reached to me because it was different from anything that was out at the time the zippers were so different and it went with a lot of creative outfits and shoes and also added a different style to street wear. The artist is good as his attention to detail and releasing quality products.

In 2016 a movie called Miracles from Heaven was released. The movie did not get as much attention compared to Furious 7. But for me, I tend to like sentimental movies over action hard movies. This movie was about a little girl who one day could not really eat. Every time she tried she just threw it up right away. The parents of the little girl basically went to every doctor they could to figure out what was wrong. Each doctor came up with different diagnoses and gave her different types of medicine. To end up having to go to a far away doctor for a real conclusion. This doctor was one that was packed and hard to get. The mother ended up just going straight there and forcing her way into the office. By this time everyone in this movie is upset and frustrated and giving up hope. But then they meet someone who reminds them that hope is still there and will come when it is truly needed. I went to see this movie with my aunt who I rarely hang out with because both of us were always busy. It was my junior year, I was trying hard in school to get really good grades and with good grades came many crying and frustrated nights. I felt really down because I wasn't understanding math and math is my favorite subject. I couldn't get the hang of it. My aunt asked me if I wanted to hang out on the weekend because my mom told her how upset I was about school. It was crazy going to see this movie because of great it was and how it really did give me another view on life and how it boosted me back up after seeing it. 

This movie of course was made out to make you cry. If you didn't cry then you didn't get the point. The family wasn't the richest family out there, which meant going to see the doctors was costing way too much to keep going through what they were going through.  The movie had specific parts to it of having the sad music at some big moments. Also showing the mother and father arguing about what to do and crying about it was really affecting them, made me feel like I was watching myself get upset and started crying. It was as if a mirror was there because I was feeling the exact same way. The way you see this little girl getting going through things that no little girl should have to go through just made me feel like bursting into tears. 

This piece of art served a personal function because of how this movie was exactly how I was feeling. The fact that the movie was having the same emotions I was having, then to show how people were giving up hope. Just like how I was giving up hope, showing that I basically was giving up hope from school. Bu then the movie reminding me not to give up because the battle isn't over yet. The movie was clearly brought to me for a reason and it was to pull me back up. The movie gave me a that kick that I needed and it impacted me by pushing me harder into exactly what I needed to do. 

This art reached me by touching the part that was most vulnerable at the moment. The movie connected with me by feeling and showing me the same emotions I was feeling in another perspective. While the girl in the video was upset and feeling hopeless, I felt the pain that she was going through. The moments that she was crying, were moments that touched my heart. By making me see the exact emotion she was feeling, it made me feel some kind of way. Pushing me to my feelings. The artist did really good by putting sad music at sad parts and intense music for intense moments. By connecting the feeling in the movie to correct spots, it made you touch your feelings in your heart. By showing the happy ending, it made me feel happy and gave me that strength to getting back up and pushing through the hard moments. That was how this movie changed me.
