Blog Post #1 Marley Clendenin

The woman's march took place January 21, 2017. I had heard about the woman's march in November a couple days before Thanksgiving. Trump was rising into power and a lot of people were upset. Nothing was occurring in my life, but everything was about politics at the time.

This art was a crowd of about half a million, passionate driven people. Signs everywhere, pink hats on so many peoples heads, and people of all ages, races, genders were gathering in D.C.

I think it serves as a social function. It was to influence people. Cultures were clashing together as one. In this march there was no individuals just a team.

It reached me because it became a really big deal for womans right. Womans protests have not see this much coverage for years and it was never this big.

  6. I agree this was such a huge step for women rights and to raise awareness of women suffrage. It also comes to show that the land of the people isn't about the people. If this many people are against something, shouldn't it be abolished? But power plays a role, and it's a case of numbers against influence.

  7. I can definitely see where you're coming from and how you can perceive the woman's march as a form of art. It's remarkable to see so many people standing together to fight against a common enemy.

  8. More elaboration is needed here. What "women's rights" were an issue? What did the "art" do to persuade? Your involvement and how it impacted you remains unclear.
